Abstract:Chemistry lookup table and presumed probability density function (PPDF) method were employed to perform large eddy simulation (LES) of lean premixed swirling flame in the PRECCINSTA model gas turbine combustor. To obtain the twodimensional chemistry lookup table that can be directly used by LES calculation, the onedimensional chemistry table with CO2 mass fraction as parameter was achieved by reactiondiffusion manifold (REDIM) technique and postprocessed by uniformed PPDF. During the PDF integrating process to obtain the Favre filtering thermodynamic variables of temperature and species, two different integrating methods were adopted with direct Favre filtering PDF method (Method 1) and general PDF with Favre averaging method (Method 2). The results show that although the twodimensional chemistry tables from two methods differ slightly, the discrepancy between the two calculation results of flame is not negligible, and the computational results obtained by Method 2 show better agreement with the experimental data.
