Estimate method of tireroad friction coefficient in accident reconstruction

Abstract:To improve the estimation accuracy of tireroad friction coefficient in accident reconstruction, an estimate method of tireroad friction coefficient was proposed. Based on the theory of fuzzy control, the main factors of tireroad friction coefficient were analyzed to build the membership functions of road condition, tire pressure, tire condition, speed and friction coefficient. According to expertise method, the fuzzy control rule was established to build friction coefficient estimate model, and the model was verified by experiment. The results show that for ABS model, the maximum relative error is 3.57% with the minimum relative error of 1.25%, and the mean relative error is 1.96% with the mean squared error of relative error of 0.80%. For nonABS model, the maximum relative error is 3.03% with the minimum relative error of 1.49%, and the mean relative error is 2.24% with the mean squared error of relative error of 0.79%.
