Abstract: To solve the problems of civil building wall with high weight and poor heat insulation, a new lightweight energysaving composite wall which composed lightgauge shaped steel, thermal insulation corn material and thin panel was proposed. The lightweight energysaving composite wall has properties of enclosure, separation, heatinsulation and loadbearing. Experiments of four composite wall specimens with full ratio were carried out under static vertical loads to investigate the damage pattern and calculate rules. The test results show that the selftapping screw integrates the lightgauge shaped steel and thin panel into a whole to bear vertical loads. Two styles of lightgauge shaped steel are used in the test specimens with bearing capacity of 60%, which means that the style of lightgauge shaped steel has remarkable influence on vertical bearing capacity of composite wall. The test results can provide a basis for creating calculation model and formula of bearing capacity.
