Abstract:To solve the problem that the tester for automobile wheelbase difference is unable to be calibrated, mechanical feature of the automobile with wheelbase difference is analyzed. The wheelbase difference influencing the automobile handling and stability is introduced. The detection model of wheelbase difference when the automobile moves in an oblique direction according to the center line of the tester is constructed. The calibration strategy of the wheelbase difference tester which can exactly adjust simulative wheelbase difference and covers all kinds of testers in normal automobile driving state is presented. An experimental prototype of the calibration apparatus is developed, which makes the wheelbase difference set in the range of 0~40 mm, arbitrarily. Experiments show that the accuracy of wheelbase difference tester calibrated agrees with the requirement that the error is less than ±02 mm in the calibration standard. Calibration of the results for wheelbase difference tester is realized quickly and precisely.
