Abstract:A novel soft switching strategy in the power converter of switched reluctance drive(SRD) was proposed.In the strategy,a kind of parallel quasi-resonant DC link was inserted between the DC power and the control circuit of the switched reluctance motor(SRM) windings,a shunt-wound capacitance was added to every SRM phase switch,and zero-voltage switch of phase switches was realized.Based on the introduction of topology and characteristics of strategy circuit,the zero voltage turn-on principle of phase switches was analyzed.Considering the common switch′s chop in the common switch converter,the controlsequence and resonant modes were analyzed.Simulations were implemented to investigate the influenceof the energy storage change of resonant inductor and different inductance value of SRM winds on resonance.The results show that the resonant waveforms will not be affected by the change of inductancevalue of SRM winds only if the appropriate resonant parameters are selected.The soft switchingperformances of phase and auxiliary switches are validated by experiments.
