Abstract:The right description of temperature field for welding process during fast heating and cooling is prerequisite for the analysis of microstructure evolution and stress-strain of welded joint. A finite element model of three-dimensional dynamic thermal distributions of tungsten inert gas(TIG) welding was estab- lished. The APDL program was written with the finite element analysis (FEA) software Ansys to simulate the TIG welding for aluminum LF6. The infrared temperature measuring meter SAT - HY6800 measures the welding process. The numerical solution and experimental results show good agreement and effectiveness of the analytic model.
