Abstract:Objective: To observe the effect of alcohol derivatives and some non-ionic surfactants on Trinder reaction. Methods:Using the aqueous solution of alcohol derivatives and non-ionic surfactant as sample, Trinder reaction experiments were carried out. The color changes were observed with the naked eye, and the absorbance values were recorded using the automatic biochemical analyzer. Effects of nonionic surfactants on the detection of uric acid were also observed. Results:The results of Trinder reaction experiments using ethanol, ethylene glycol, isopropanol, Triton X-100, Triton X-405, Tween20 and NP40 as sample all produced purple color reaction. The absorbance of these substances in aqueous solution increased with the increase of concentration, and the absorbance of ethylene glycol, TritonX-100, TritonX-405 and Tween20 changed more obviously with the concentration, the absorbance levels of non-ionic surfactants were closely related to the hydroxyl values of the non-ionic surfactants. Levels of uric acid in serum samples containing 0.1% Triton X-100, Triton X-405, Tween20 and NP40 were significantly higher than that of samples containing tri-distilled water. Conclusion:The alcohol derivatives and some non-ionic surfactants have the interference to the Trinder reaction.
