Abstract Ancient Chinese ethics features an obvious low key orientation although Chinese culture is known as an ethical one. Ancient Chinese ethics prefers reservation and modesty to high profile, seeing modesty, sacrifice and tolerance as virtues and modesty, docility and restraint as ideal characters. As a result,a philosophy that stresses mildness, honesty, sincerity, and inward grace was formulated, giving Chinese people and Chinese culture a special flavor.
