Especially in the latter, hybridity is the product of conscious action with the purpose of drawing the Western readers' attention to other cultures in the world, especially the Chinese culture. The success of Pearl S. Buck' s writing and translation is quite enlightening to the spreading of Chinese culture and to Chinese literary criticism and literary translation, etc.
