Abstract:Pearl S. Bucks image and status as an ethnic writer has been well accepted, but her special fate and experience has in reality lifted her from the bondage of a certain nation, and helped her become a world citizen with the belief that “all men are brothers”. In her autobiography My Several Worlds, Pearl S. Buck traced back to the origin of this belief by means of recollecting her extraordinary childhood experience and life background. Moreover, she also elucidated her cosmopolitan thoughts and beliefs via criticizing parochial nationalism, cultural chauvinism, and racialism.
