Abstract：The existence and development of farmer cooperative economic organizations is of great significance to the development of rural economy. However, there are many problems in the development of China's farmer cooperative economic organizations, for example, the low quality of the members, the small size of the organizations, the weak market competitiveness, the inadequate governmental support. The cause of these problems lies in the flawed legal system related to agriculture and the farmer cooperative economic organizations, and the undefined legal status and nonstandard operation of such organizations. The way out of the dilemma is to improve the legal system concerning such organizations, define their legal status, regulate their operation mechanism, and increase the governmental support.
