Abstract：The monosyllable furniture words are mainly named after their material and shape, but when the multisyllable ones are named, material plays only a trivial role while function, position etc. are more valued. In addition, multisyllable ones are often named by combining feature morpheme with generic morpheme. This reflects the importance of the word formation with notions, for in this way, the form of new words is more orderly and systematic, and the meanings are easy to understand.
