Abstract:The Taosists of Quanzhen Sect, Wang Chongyang, Ma Yu, Qiu Chuji, etc., were keen on poetic creation and left behind numerous poems that embody their unique poetics. They not only used poetry to preach their doctrines, convert the nonbelievers and contact other Taoists, but also treated poetry as a word game that facilitated expressing their religious and poetic feelings and enhancing fellow feelings. Their creation deviates from the mainstream conception of poetry as expressiion of aspiration and emotion, and becomes a special landscape in both the religious and literary circles.
