| Correlation between Selvester QRS score, and ventricular arrhythmias and recent major adverse cardiovascular events in patients with acute myocardial infarction |

Abstract Objective To investigate the relationship between Selvester QRS score (SQs), and ventricular arrhythmias and major adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs) in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Methods Retrospective analysis was performed on 468 patients who had undergone percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for AMI first diagnosed due to chest distress and chest pain in our hospital. They were divided into SQs＜3 group and SQs≥3 group according to the median SQs. Related clinical data of the two groups were collected; the incidence of ventricular arrhythmias, heart rate variability and the incidence of MACEs occurred 6 months after discharge were compared between the two groups. Results The incidence of ventricular arrhythmias in grade 0-Ⅱ and Ⅴ of the Lown classification does not vary significantly between the two groups (P＞0.05). In the SQs≥3 group, the incidence of ventricular arrhythmias in grade Ⅲ and Ⅳ is higher than that in the SQs＜3 group with statistically significant difference (P＜0.05). There is no significant difference in heart rate variability indexes (SDNN, rMSSD, pNN50 and triangle index) between the two groups (P＞0.05). The incidence of MACEs in the SQs≥3 group is higher than that in the SQs＜3 group with statistically significant difference (P＜0.05). Correlation analysis results show that the correlation coefficient between left ventricular ejection fraction and SQs is -0.156 (P=0.001), indicating that the two indexes are negatively correlated with statistical significance. Conclusion SQs is correlated with ventricular arrhythmias (especially malignant arrhythmias) and short-term prognosis in patients with AMI.
