Abstract Objective To explore the predictive value of the index of cardio-electrophysiological balance(iCEB) in patients with an implatable cardioverterdefibrillator(ICD) for primary prevention of sudden cardiac death (SCD).Methods The pacemaker data of patients with ICD implantation for primary prevention of SCD were collected by pacemaker program controller. These cases were divided into two groups according to whether the cardiovascular events (ventricular tachycardia or ventricular fibrillation) happened or accepted appropriate ICD treatment. The iCEB (iCEB≈QT/QRS) was calculated by routine 12-lead ECG parameters QRS and QT, and the difference between the two groups was analyzed.ResultsThe area under the ROC curve of QT/QRS was 0.810(95%CI 0.707-0.913). And the sensitivity and specificity are 100% and 78% respectively when QT/QRS≥5.0.Conclusion QT/QRS is of clinical value in predicting the effectiveness of ICD implantation for primary prevention of SCD.
