Abstract Objective To analyze the characteristics of deceleration capacity of heart rate(DC) in patients with sinus bradycardia(SB) younger than 60 years old, and to provide reference for clinically treating sinus bradycardia. Methods We selected 204 outpatients definitely diagnosed with SB(SB group) and contemporaneously 104 healthy people(control group) from January 2015 to March 2017 in the Department of Cardiology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University. They underwent 24hour ambulatory electrocardiography examination, and the indexes of DC, acceleration capacity of heart rate(AC) and heart rate variability(HRV) were analyzed. Results Compared with the control group, the DC value, absolute value of AC and HRV related indexes all significantly increased in SB group(P<0.05). The DC value did not vary significantly between males and females in either of the two groups. In samesex comparison, DC value of the SB group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion Increased DC value in patients with SB younger than 60 suggests increased tension of vagus nerve.
