Abstract ObjectiveTo investigate the relationship between isolated ventricular septal hypertrophy(IVSH) and ventricular arrhythmia(VA) in patients with primary hypertension, and to predict the incidence of cardiovascular events. MethodsThirtytwo patients diagnosed with hypertension complicating IVSH(IVSH group) and 54 cases with normal interventricular septum(control group) by cardiac color ultrasound were selected for 24hour ambulatory electrocardiography examination, respectively. The incidence of VA was observed. ResultsThe incidence of VA in the hypertensives complicating IVSH above level Ⅲ and D was significantly higher than that in the control group.ConclusionIt helps to treat VA and prevent sudden cardiac death as soon as possible to pay close attention to the incidence of VA in patients with hypertension and IVSH.
