Abstract:Electrocardiogram(ECG) has important referential value for diagnosing coronary heart disease and determining culprit vessels. A large amout of study has revealed that the elevation of ST segment in lead aVR and(or) V1 combined with its depression in wide leads(Ⅰ, Ⅱ,Ⅲ, V2-V6, aVL and aVF) can predict left main coronary artery disease and its prognosis to some extent. This type of ECG combination is called the “8 plus 2” ECG. This article briefly reviews the source of the “8 plus 2” ECG, and its predictive value for left main coronary artery disease and its prognosis.
