Abstract:Objective To investigate the effects of moxifloxacin hydrochloride on corrected QT interval (QTc) in elderly patients with pulmonary infection. Methods A total of 192 elderly patients with pulmonary infection in our hospital were randomly divided into two groups, moxifloxacin hydrochloride group (96 cases) and ceftriaxone sodium group (96 cases), who were separately treated with the corresponding drugs for 10-14 days.Carry out 12-lead simultaneous ECG, blood routine examination and biochemistry complete set before and after the treatment. Results Comparing with ceftriaxone sodium group, the QTc of moxifloxacin hydrochloride group was prolonged after the treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Moxifloxacin hydrochloride could prolong QTc interval in elderly patients, which may result in arrhythmia. ECG reexamination should be taken during the treatment.
