Abstract:Objective The relationship between electrocardiogram parameters (P wave duration, electric axis, QRS wave duration, electric axis, PR interval, QT and QTc interval) and normal range in a Chinese population over 60 years old was investigated. Methods The electrocardiograms of 695 normal persons (310 males and 385 females) were collected. The average and standard deviation of electrocardiogram parameters were calculated and compared with the normal range. Results The lowest heart rate of men and women showed a downward trend with age, which was consistent with the normal range. Compared with the normal range, the P wave duration, PR interval duration, T wave duration, QT and QTc interval of people over 60 years old were prolonged. The PR segment was shorter than the normal range as the age increased. It was considered that the left atrial pressure increased with age, but the physiological structure of left atrium did not change. QRS duration was prolonged in healthy men over 60 years old. R-wave axis and T-wave axis will gradually deviate to the left after 60 years of age. Conclusion In clinical diagnosis, P-wave duration, QRS duration (male) can be prolonged appropriately;PR interval, T-wave duration ,QT interval and QTc interval can be prolonged appropriately with age, and R-wave and T-wave axis gradually shift left with age.
