Abstract The collaborative governance of higher education is the core element of education coordinated development strategy in the ChengduChongqing economic circle, and it is also a key factor to enhance the comprehensive competitiveness of higher education in the ChengduChongqing region. The collaborative governance of higher education in the ChengduChongqing economic circle must be oriented towards the realization of the goal of regional collaborative development, the improvement of regional education governance capabilities, and the highlighting of the ontology effectiveness of higher education, which characterizes the strategic positioning, functional positioning and ontology positioning of regional higher education collaborative governance. The collaborative governance of higher education in the ChengduChongqing economic circle must be based on the dimensions of balancing efficiency and fairness, cogovernance and sharing, precision and energy efficiency, and innovation and integration. Based on this, a fourinone logical framework of collaborative governance concept, collaborative governance elements, collaborative governance methods and collaborative governance mechanisms is formed. Therefore, to realize the collaborative governance of higher education in the ChengduChongqing economic circle, we should focus on shaping the target picture of regional higher education collaborative governance, improving the structural system of regional higher education collaborative governance, reconstructing the hierarchical form of regional higher education collaborative governance, and building the symbiotic mechanism for regional higher education collaborative governance.
