Abstract The independent knowledge system of Chinese higher education is a holistic and systematic theoretical integration of Chinese higher education obtained after a comprehensive and profound understanding of socialist higher education with Chinese characteristics, which has ideological guiding value for guiding the reform and development of Chinese higher education. The system needs to be based on the talent and theoretical foundation of the huge higher education research team, the huge scale of higher education research projects and theoretical results, the unity and diversity of higher education and universities as the theoretical basis, and to guide the higher education practice effectively and serve the development strategy needs efficiently. The logical basis is to deal well with the relationship between national governance, economic development and social progress. The premise for the construction of independent knowledge system of higher education is to make clear what is the independent knowledge system of higher education, what is the effective independent knowledge system of higher education and what is the core of the independent knowledge system of higher education.
