Abstract In order to strengthen the disciplinary construction and promote the interdisciplinary integration, some local highlevel universities in our country have made preliminary attempts to reform the internal management system and set up faculties. The necessity of faculty system reform lies in the urgent need of local highlevel universities in cultivating highquality creative talents. The construction and development of local highlevel universities urgently need to be further optimized and promoted, and the integration of disciplines is supposed to promote the development of regional economy and local society. The design of faculty system reform should follow the principle of purpose, moderation, integration and liquidity, and protection. In the process of implementation, the nature of the faculty system and the key points of the faculty reform system need to be understood and seized. The current situation of the subject and the reform ideas of the faculty system need to be sorted out and clarified. The process of implementation should be dynamically monitored and studied.
