The Empirical Analysis on Research Development of Chinese Higher Education Within the Last Decade:Based on General Projects of Humanity and Social Science Research Sponsored by Ministry of Education (2005—2014) |

Abstract This paper analyzes the general projects (the higher education research projects)of Humanity and Social Science Research sponsored by Ministry of Education (2005—2014) from two perspectives of research content and research staff. Its found that in research content, the main characteristic of the higher education research is that the application research is the majority, the micro research is the majority, and relatively focused on the talents cultivation in institution of higher learning, higher education management, the management of high learning colleges, teachers in colleges and universities, comparative higher education, etc. In research field the reseach staff and the work units of project learners concentrated in the key and ordinary higher learning institutions where concentrated in eastern and developed coastal districts, and the younger scholars occupied high proportion. There are distinct nonbalance phenomenon in higher education research;higher relativity between higher education research and policy orientation and hot point issues;and close relevance between higher education research and regional higher education and economic development level.
