Abstract:The structure of higher education ecosystem is an important issue, which is related to whether the system development is stable, balanced and coordinated, and how to maintain and realize its function. The study of the ecosystem structure of higher education in Hong Kong shows that the system has the characteristics of focusing on the interaction between producers and consumers, playing the role of decomposers, using the comprehensive support of the environment, and forming the ecological value chain and value network of higher education. In the context of building a higher education power and promoting worldclass universities and firstclass disciplines, mainland China could adhere to the diversity of human resources producers in higher education to meet the increasingly rich demand of consumers; rationally play the role of decomposers to straighten the relationship between universities and administrative departments; create a good integrated environment for the construction of a highquality higher education ecosystem; and establish the concept of the ecosystem value chain and value network to promote the overall optimization of the structure of higher education ecosystem.
