Abstract:The rate of young college teachers turnover is an indicator of the stability of teaching staff and organizational identity and it is related to the development and future of universities and higher education. Turnover intention is the most predictive variable in the turnover behavior. The present article reveals the situation of young college teachers turnover intention and analyzes its causes through a questionnaire survey of 321 young college teachers. The results show that young teachers turnover intention was at lower middle level; perceived organizational support and job satisfaction were negatively related to turnover intention; compared with perceived organizational support, job satisfaction was a stronger predictor of turnover intention; and that the influence of perceived organizational support on turnover intention was mediated by job satisfaction.
