Abstract:Cambridge University has systematically constructed its academic organizations through its statutes. Specifically, its academic organizations are hierarchically classified and framed through specification of duties and functions; its relatively separated academic power is carried out by strictly implementing the approval process; its diverse academic collaborative governance model is formed by constructing diversified organizations. The implications to Chinas university statutes and construction of academic organizations are as follows: the functions and duties of academic organizations should be clarified, and systematic construction of academic organizations should be strengthened; the application for and approval of academic projects should be strict, and relatively independent exercise of academic power should be stressed; the construction of grassroots academic organizations should be promoted, and diverse academic governance bodies should be guaranteed.
