Numerical simulation and performance prediction inside trapeziform labyrinth screw pump |

Abstract Based on theoretical analysis of the trapeziform labyrinth screw pump, the commercial software FLUENT is applied to simulate the 3D flow of clean water inside the pump. Depending on the numerical simulation and the analysis of the pump, the diversification of the main characters of inner flow and the outer characters can be obtained. By integrating numerical simulation with experimental result, it shows that CFD calculation can predict the performance of the pump and offer the benefit for the design and optimization of the trapeziform labyrinth screw pump.
