| Effect of mixing sequence on high temperature performance of
hot recycled asphalt mixture |

Abstract Three kinds of mixing sequences(A,B,C) and two asphalt binders(70＃,90＃) were selected to fabricate hot recycled asphalt samples. The superpave gyration compactor (SGC) was applied to investigate the change in different compaction parameters of construction densification index (CDI) and compactability energy index (CEI). The Hamburg wheeltrack device (HWTD) was used to explore the variation of creep slope, which was utilized to evaluate the effect of mixing sequences on the high temperature of hot recycled asphalt mixtures. The results show that the CDI of sample compacted in mixing sequence B is increased by 14％ to 118％ than those in mixing sequence of A and C, while the CEI of sample compacted in mixing sequence B is decreased by 20％ to 53％ than those in mixing sequence of A and C. Mixing sequence has obvious effect on compaction parameters. The creep slope of asphalt sample compacted in mixing sequence B is relatively lower than those compacted in other two mixing sequences, which means the high temperature performance of sample compacted in mixing sequence B is better than others. The compaction parameters are related to creep slope. Compared with 90＃ recycled asphalt mixture, the creep slopes of 70＃ recycled asphalt mixtures are decreased by 37％,38％ and 37％ in mixing sequence A, B, C, respectively. The high temperature performance of 70＃ binder recycled mixtures compacted in three mixing sequences is better than that of 90＃.
