Cointegration analysis of energy structure diversity and
energy efficiency with provincial data as example |

Abstract ShannonWeiner index was used to measure the average energy structure diversity of energy consumption in 30 provinces and autonomous regions except Tibet from 2010 to 2012, and the results showed that the energy structure diversity characteristics were different. DEA method was adopted to measure the energy efficiency, and the measurement indicators included energy input, economy output and environment output. The DEA evaluation value was analyzed to show that except municipalities directly under the central government and provinces with relatively intact ecological protection, the energy efficiency of the rest provinces was insufficient. The cointegration theory was used to discuss the relationship between energy structure diversity and energy efficiency. The result shows that the energy structure diversity has longterm stable cointegration relationship with energy efficiency. Every one unit increasing of diversity index can increase energy efficiency by 12.47%.
