Abstract:In vitro anti-tumor activity of supercritical CO2 extract of propolis (SE-P) was studied by means of MTT assay and was compared with ethanol extract of propolis from market (ME-P) and 95% ethanol extract of propolis residue after being extracted by supercritical CO2 (RE-P). Anti-tumor activity of SE-P gained under various extraction pressure was studied. SE-P has an obvious inhibitive effect on U937, 95D, SGC-7901 and TE-1 cell lines. Comparing to ME-P and RE-P, SE-P has the highest anti- tumor activity to above cell lines. The anti-tumor activity factors can be extracted within a wide pressure range. The best ranges are 10 - 15 MPa and 20 - 30 MPa. It shows that the SE-P has obvious anti-tumor activity on tumor cell lines.
