Abstract:With the vibrating beam as an example, a new local volume displacement sensor was used to measure the local volume displacement of vibrating structure. Based on the integration in parts approach, the PVDF film of particular shape was designed, in order to receive the specific local volume displace- ment of vibrating structure. The results show that the optimal PVDF sensor shape is independent of property of the excitation (the type, position and frequency) , and independent of material characteristics of vibrating plate, but dependent of the sensor's location on the beam. It is feasible to measure the local volume displacement of vibrating structure with the new sensor.
