Abstract:In order to ensure the QoS in space-based networks (SBN), a new SBN QoS model based on DiffServ, which was short for SBN-DiffServ, was proposed. The SBN-DiffServ was based on the existed terrestrial network QoS model designed to meet the SBN features, such as the layered architecture and the multisatellite selection scheme. By extending the differential services code point (DSCP) and perhope behaviour (PHB), traditional queue management and multisatellite access mechanism were integrated. The SBN-DiffServ has achieved a better bandwidth and latency constraints on SBN QoS assurance mechanism. Simulation was completed in NS2 environment. The results show that the model offers different bandwidth and delay guarantee for different priority services, which can be used to ensure a good bandwidth and latency performance of SBN QoS assurance system.
