Abstract:In order to investigate work performance of a micro HCCI free-piston engine,Matlab was applied to simulate its single-impact combustion process.A zero-dimensional numerical model incorporating global chemical kinetics,heat transfer,blow-by and a perfect gas model were developed.The simulation results were compared with experimental results from a reference.The combustion processes in the micro HCCI free piston engine with different initial free piston velocities were simulated by using the kinetics-leakage model and some conclusions were obtained.The results show that the kinetics-leakage model matches the practical result well and the initial free piston velocity has an important influence on the combustion process.The computational results provide a design basis for micro free-piston engine
