V-cone flowmeter characteristics for measuring vehicle diluted exhaust gas flow

Abstract：In order to accurately measure the diluted exhaust flow, the structure of V-cone flowmeter was designed. A model of flow measurement was established and the calculation software was developed. The flow of V-cone flowmeter was simulated by using Fluent software. The influence of the flowmeter＇s differential pressure of the pre and post cone at different cone angle, with or without connective bar, and the gas temperature and so on were studied. Finally, the results of the verification test with critical flow venturi（CFV） indicate that the calculation model, simulation and the experiment results have strong consistency, and the flowmeter is of great accuracy and stability.
