Abstract:Objective: To investigate the expression of EphrinB2 gene and analyze its clinical significance in acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Methods: Realtime quantitative PCR (RQPCR) technique was used to examine EphrinB2 expression level in the bone marrow mononuclear cells from 91 AML patients and 32 nonmalignant hematologic patients. Results: EphrinB2 level in AML patients was significantly downregulated compared to controls(P0.05), but the age of low expressed patients was significantly lower than those high expressed patients(P=0.011).Receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC) analysis revealed that an areas under the ROC curve of 0.812 (95%CI:0.726-0.898;P0.05). Conclusion: Decreased EphrinB2 expression is a common molecular event in cases with AML but has no impact on the prognosis of patients.
