Abstract After hundreds of years’ development from the Tang Dynasty to the early Yuan Dynasty, the literature of the Bohai nationality boasted two golden periods: the Bohai Kingdom period and the Jin Dynasty period. Although it reached its climax in the Jin Dynasty, it is still a weak link in the literary research of Chinese ancient northern nationalities. So it is worthy of special discussion. The historical reason of its renaissance in the Jin Dynasty lay in politics and culture. Its most remarkable characteristic in the Jin Dynasty was its reflection of the tremendous historical effects and advantages of the physique and cultural fusion between nationality and nationality. Its most outstanding representative was Wang Tingyun, the highest achiever in the Bohai literature then. The advent of the Li, Zhang, Gao and Wang literary clans is of great significance in its literary history. The literature of the Bohai nationality was an integral part of the complicated Chinese ancient literature pattern.
