Abstract Social changes usher in changes in social roles and values of art.On one hand, the mainstream art and its professionalization begin to deviate from demands of the mass;on the other, the consumer culture may result in the commercialization and popularization of art.The artists'social roles are alienated and art is changing. Is the current mainstream art filled with flaws,or is the orientation of the consumer culture questionable? Should art comply with the various social demands? Or should it ignore or confront with them? Or should it modity and satisfy them? These questions require a two-way reflection and communication,in order to reach the same ultimate goal through diverse routes.
