Dilemma and Path Choice of New Generation Migrant
Workers Role Change into that of Urban Residents

Abstract Urbanization is the natural outcome of Chinas economic development. The core of the newtype urbanization is the urbanization of people under the guidance of scientific view of development. The role change of the new generation of migrant workers into urban residents is a problem arising the newtype urbanization and should be dealt with properly. The new generation accounts for 61% of the migrant workers, and in pursuit of economic accumulation, is more eager to melt into the cities. Yet these workers are baffled by “double rejections” in the following 6 aspects: household registration, land, employment, housing, education and social security. It is urgent to find a path for these migrants, and make policies and bring out countermeasures that are realistic and effective in household registration, land, employment, social security, etc.
