Abstract The pronoun Zhe Deng in modern Chinese appeared in the Song Dynasty. The evolutionary route can be found clearly from Kill Cui Ning Mistakenly, The Whole Collection of Shuihu, to Words to the World and The Heroes and Heroines. It was first used in story telling, but later it was kept in written works, such as The Whole Collection of Shuihu and The Heroes and Heroines, but after the climax, it lost its glory, and from the late Qing Dynasty it was eventually disappeared from our life.
