On the Central Position of Lexicons in Language --The Superiority of Natural Lexicons from the Perspective of Information Science |
College of Humanities, Hebei University |
Abstract Lexicons are the basis of a language and take the central position. Sounds are attached to lexicons, and exist in the sound .of individual words. Grammar is the abstract sum of morphological change rules and structure of the combination of sentences. There are no grammatical rules without lexicons. Without lexicons, sound and grammar are but empty concepts because they have lost their supporters.
