Abstract The alienation of digital consumption is a contemporary social phenomenon. In the digital industrial society, capital and digital technology conspire to create a digital space for capital accumulation and profit growth in the consumption field, leading to new forms of consumption alienation in the digital space, such as the enslavement of consumer entities, the exploitation of consumer activities, the flow of data on consumer goods, and the desolation of consumer experiences. The alienation of digital consumption has its profound reasons, such as the acceleration of digital capital accumulation in time and space, the hidden manipulation of digital technology black boxes, and the cultural values of digital consumption. Therefore, in order to uncover the alienation of digital consumption, it is necessary to train capital with the people as the center, rely on institutional advantages to fair data algorithms, construct a rational consumer psychology, and establish a digital resource sharing mechanism to optimize digital consumption.
