As the absolute poverty is being uprooted, it is of great significance for China's policy designer of postpoverty alleviation era to evaluate whether there is spillover effect of improving relative poverty of the filing riser policy and povertystricken villages policy in the process of helping the poor households to increase their income. Based on the data from the central region in December, 2018, we find that: first, under standard 1 (50% of the median household income), nearly 9.6% of individuals are relatively poor, but if the family structure is considered, there would be less relative poverty, and our research on the depth and intensity of relative poverty shows that the current situation of relative poverty is similar to that under the national absolute poverty standards in the past; second, the designation of povertystricken villages and the establishment of filing riser can improve income distribution and reduce relative poverty, but the latter has a higher spillover effect than the designation even though their spillover effect can overlap; third, with the designation of povertystricken villages and the establishment of filing riser, the improvement of such conditions as production and living can reduce relative rural poverty.
