Abstract:Drawing on Martin Heideggers conception of ‘dwelling’, many ecocritics have written extensively on place, and the potential of literature and the arts to contribute to dwelling and reinhabitation. Deleuze and Guattari, Rosi Braidotti and others present nomadism as a source of social and cultural renewal, which harbours the potential for an alternative way of relating to nature, women and animals. The essence of nomadism lies in a different way of inhabiting space, a ‘dwelling while moving’. Austrian poet Theodor Kramer’s work prefigures nomadism.
