Pearl S. Buck' s translation of Shui Hu Chuan adopts the foreignizing or defamiliarizing method to keep the foreign flavor so that the target readers can keep having new findings and that the target text can increase its readers' aesthetic happiness and change the familiar in their perception of the world into the novel by extending its readers' aesthetic experience and increasing the difficulty in their understanding.
