Abstract: Confucianism Dhyana, the fruit of the blending of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, was a phenomenon worth noticing in the Zen history. Yelu Chucai was one of the representatives of the Confucian Dhyana School. His thought and behavior were actually guided by Buddhism although they featured the two extremes of participating in government and retiring. His Dhyana thought of administering heart with Buddhism and administering state with Confucianism and his Dhyana poems that elucidated the doctrine of Caodong Sect represented by Xingxiu embodied a concentrated reflection of the connotation of Confucianism Dhyana.
