Abstract: OConnor pointed out the increasingly serious ecological problems in the contemporary world ,which are rooted in the dual crisis of capitalism and the solution of which is to realize the Ecological Socialism where productive justice replaces distributive justice. But such an ecological socialism is but OConnor's ideal theory, which has an obvious blank —that of “consumptive justice”. The construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics needs not only to emphasize the “distributive justice” and “the production of justice”, but also to stress the “consumptive justice” in order to guide all members of society to use natural resources rationally, adjust the structure of consumption, and enhance consumer benefits against corruption and wasting. Only in this way can we solve the ecological problems plaguing human society fundamentally and realize the sustainable development of human society.
