Abstract Objective To explore the relationship between heart rate variability and premature beat for patients with tuberculosis. MethodsTwentyfourhour ambulatory electrocardiography of 111 tuberculosis patients were selected and kinds of timedomain indices of heart rate variability were routinely analyzed. According to frequency of premature beat, the enrolled cases were divided into control group(0-10 times per 24 hours), sporadic group(11-500 times per 24 hours) and frequent group(>500 times per 24 hours). Results① Between sporadic group and control group, there weren’t statistically significant differences in other indices including SDNN, SDANN, SDNN index, PNN50 and rMSSD(P>0.05), except for statistically significant difference in HRVTI(P<0.05). Between frequent group and control group, differences of SDNN, SDANN, SDNN index, PNN50 and HRVTI were all statistically significant(P<0.05) while that of rMSSD wasn’t statistically significant(P>0.05). Between sporadic group and frequent group, there existed statistically significant differences in SDNN and SDANN(P<0.05) while there existed no statistically significant differences in SDNN index, PNN50, rMSSD and HRVTI(P>0.05). ② Between frequent group and control group as well as frequent group and sporadic group, there all existed statistically significant differences in positive rates of SDNN and HRVTI(P<0.05). And yet the differences of positive rates of SDNN and HRVTI weren’t statistically significant(P>0.05) between sporadic group and control group.ConclusionThe decrease of heart rate variability is inherently related to frequent premature beat, which offers important clinical significance in predicting the prognosis of tuberculosis patients at a high risk of premature beat.
