Abstract Left bundle branch block (LBBB) is less common than right bundle branch block, and mostly pathological. Since LBBB changes the sequence of normal cardiac activation, resulting in electro-mechanical non-synchronization of the left and right ventricles, it is prone to cause ventricular remodeling, and increase the risk of heart failure and other adverse cardiac events. This review mainly focuses on the research progress in the electro-mechanical nonsynchronization and pathogenic gene related electrophysiological mechanisms of LBBB.
