2017 ISHNE/HRS expert consensus statement on ambulatory ECG and external cardiac monitoring/telemetry(1): monitoring method of ambulatory ECG |

|
Abstract Ambulatory ECG (AECG) is very commonly employed in a variety of clinical contexts to detect cardiac arrhythmias and arrhythmia patterns which are not readily obtained from the routine ECG. The rhythm information derived from various AECG recording systems can often provide reliable diagnostic references in clinic. Therefore, it is crucial to make accurate recording and precise analysis of AECG. This paper introduces the development history of ambulatory monitoring technique and summarizes the features of various AECG monitoring devices. It also highlights the main points of lead selection, and signal acquisition, processing and interpretation when AECG technique is applied in clinical practice and clinical research.
